Free Parking Locations for the Public to Attend the Royal Mourning Ceremony for Her Majesty the Queen Mother
During this solemn period of national mourning, Thailand Parking Search wishes to extend its support by providing convenient information on free parking locations and nearby parking areas for the public attending the royal ceremonies.
The Bureau of the Royal Household has granted permission for members of the public to pay their respects to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, in front of Her Majesty’s portrait at Sahathai Samakhom Pavilion, The Grand Palace, every day from Monday, October 27, 2025, between 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Additionally, the public may offer their final respects before the royal urn of Her Majesty at Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall, following the completion of the 15-day royal merit-making ceremony, starting Sunday, November 9, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
To ensure smooth and convenient travel for all those wishing to participate in the mourning ceremonies, the government and related agencies have arranged free parking zones and public service areas around the Rattanakosin Island area and nearby districts.
Free Parking Locations for the Public
● Royal Thai Navy Club Parking Area – Capacity: 100 cars, open from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
● Sanam Luang (North Side) – Capacity: over 50 cars, available from 12:00 p.m. onward.
● Old Government Lottery Office Building (Ratchadamnoen Klang Road) – Capacity: 50 cars; suitable for visitors from the Phra Nakhon side.
● Wat Makut Kasattriyaram Ratchaworawihan (Krung Kasem Road) – Capacity: 100 cars; convenient access to the Thonburi side via Rama VIII Bridge.
● Nakhon Pathom Road (beside Wat Benchamabophit Dusitvanaram) – Capacity: 40 cars.
● Luk Luang Road (beside Government House) – Capacity: 40 cars.
● Wat Sommanat Ratchaworawihan (Krung Kasem Road) – Capacity: 100 cars.
● Sapan Kao (White Bridge) Property Co., Ltd. Parking Lot – Capacity: 200 cars.
● Kamphaeng Phet 5 Road (behind Ramathibodi Hospital) – Capacity: 80 cars.
Travel Information and Additional Advice
Members of the public can check free shuttle service routes and pick-up/drop-off points. For those who must drive, it is recommended to contact local authorities such as the Metropolitan Police Division 1 for up-to-date traffic and parking guidance — helping reduce congestion in central Bangkok.
The government also requests all attendees to dress respectfully in mourning attire.
● Please refrain from wearing T-shirts.
● Women are requested to wear knee-length skirts.
● Sarongs are available at screening points near the tunnel and may be borrowed by presenting a copy of your ID card and returning them at the Wisetchaisri Gate.
